Two’s Company…
One of the biggest aims of the CityFlatmate app, which launches soon, is to find your ideal flatmate. But what are the benefits of living with someone over living alone? Here are some of the reasons why sharing a flat with someone is the best way you can live!
Make Friends
Of course when you live with someone you’ll hopefully become great friends with them! When you match with someone on the CityFlatmate app, you’ll have matched with them because you have something in common and once you meet up with them and potentially move in together, they could be a friend for life! There’s also the chance to become friends with your new flatmates friends too, so you might have an even bigger increase in your friendship group!
TV Binges and Movie Marathons
Watching your favourite TV show or film is always great but watching it with someone is always much better! You can discuss the plots, what’s going on and share stories of how you relate to what’s been watched. Also if you’re going to have a duvet Sunday of just watching Netflix, you don’t have to feel as guilty doing it with someone!
Someone to Cook With or For
A big part of anyone’s day might be coming home and having a lovely meal, although sometimes cooking for one isn’t for everyone! If you’re someone that loves to show off their gourmet techniques and cooking mastery, living with someone means you can cook a beautiful dish not just for yourself, but your flatmate. You might be more likely to try and cook a meal if you live with someone so you can impress them with your cooking talents.
If you’re lucky to live with a budding chef, you might only have to do the washing up and the days of cooking meals might be over. You might even try to rustle up a dish together in the kitchen, which is always more fun and entertaining.
Cleaning
As the days go on and you start to live in your place, it might just get a bit dirty and untidy! However, living with someone means you can share the workload when it comes to chores like cleaning by taking it in turns. This makes it more manageable and you don’t have to worry as much about it.
Someone to Listen and Talk to
If you’re having problems at work or with your significant other, sometimes having someone to talk to can be a great way to put your mind at ease. Feeling lonely can be one of the hardest things, so if you have a flatmate to help you, or share a cuppa with, it’ll make all the difference.
Also if you want to chat or talk about anything you love or hate, having a flatmate to do that with can make it more exciting.
Forgetting Your Keys
I’m sure we’ve all been there at some point where we’ve been at work all day, or been out for the night, and lost or forgotten our keys! Well, chances are someone will be in your flat to let you in, so gone are the days of having to call a locksmith or climb through the window!
